Organizers: Cambodian Water Supply Association (CWA) and Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI)

The Cambodian Water Supply Association (CWA), in collaboration with MISTI and supported by development partners including CAPRED, Water.org, JICA, AWA, and SME Bank, successfully hosted the 5th Cambodian Water Conference & Exhibition. This three-day event brought together nearly 700 participants including government officials, development partners, private water operators (PWOs), and technology providers to address the country’s water supply challenges and progress toward achieving SDG 6—clean water for all by 2030.

Conference Highlights:

- - Opening Remarks from H.E. Hem Vanndy (Minister of MISTI), H.E. Derek Yip (Australian Ambassador), Mrs. Corinne Cheeseman (CEO, AWA), and Mr. Leng Kheav (President, CWA), focusing on collaboration, investment, and regulation in the sector.
  - Panel Discussions on climate resilience, financing solutions, private sector engagement, and aligning with the government’s Pentagonal Strategy.
  - Technical Presentations covering asset management, disaster response, digital tools, and inclusive water services for people with disabilities.
  - Champion PWOs Awards celebrated outstanding operators for excellence in service delivery, community engagement, and innovation.
  - Exhibition Tour showcased the latest technologies, financing models, and services in the water sector.
  - Field Visit to Svay Romeat Water Supply Utility gave hands-on exposure to rural water system best practices.

Key Outcomes:

- - Reinforced public-private collaboration in the water sector.
  - Promoted investment in sustainable and inclusive water infrastructure.
  - Enhanced knowledge sharing and capacity building through MoUs and technical exchanges.

The event was a milestone in Cambodia’s journey toward universal access to clean and safe water. The next conference is scheduled for 2026 with renewed commitment from all stakeholders.
